Worship In Christ’s Entire Life

“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.” – Matthew 2:11

From the very beginning of Jesus’ earthly mission, worship preceded everything. The wise men from the East travelled far not just to visit, but to bow down and offer Him their most valuable gifts. This act was not an isolated event; it set the theme for Christ's entire life on earth. The Bible clearly shows that Jesus’ life was consistently met with worship. Every person who encountered Him—whether through healing, miracle, prophetic word, or encouragement—responded by acknowledging His true identity and authority. They bowed, shouted, thanked Him, and confessed Him as the visible, bodily expression of the fullness of God.

Even demons recognized His supreme rank. It is sobering to remember that demons tremble and bow in His presence.
“When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him.” – Mark 5:6

Operating from the spiritual realm, demons are fully aware of Christ’s power. When the man possessed by a legion of demons encountered Jesus, the demons immediately cried out and begged to be sent away. If the demons recognize and submit to Him, how can we, the body of Christ, ever take our worship lightly?

Worship did not cease at the end of His earthly life; it continued even at the cross. While one thief mocked Him, the other confessed His sovereignty and was saved. The sheer power of the events surrounding His death compelled witnesses to worship:“Truly this man was the Son of God.” – Mark 15:39

In the heavenly realms, worship is eternal and unending. The book of Revelation gives us a clear glimpse of this continuous reality:“Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed… Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne…” – Revelation 5:5–6
The Lion and the Lamb is eternally surrounded by the four living creatures, the twenty-four elders, angels, and heavenly beings—all joining in ceaseless adoration.

Worship begins and ends with Christ. Without Him, there is no worship, because it is an act reserved exclusively for God.If worship is a constant in the spiritual and heavenly realms, it must become a lifestyle for us here on earth. This means Christ must permeate the entirety of our lives and actions. Our songs, our speech, character and our deeds must all be focused on Him.We are called to live with a constant awareness of our Savior, seeking to please Him and bring Him joy in all we do.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men...” (Colossians 3:23)

As we enter this Christmas season, commemorating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, let us ensure that worship remains at the center of all our celebrations. Whether we are rejoicing with friends or sharing gifts with loved ones, let every action be done as unto the Lord.
