Our worship will only make sense when we give God His rightful place. Worship must never be something we do out of ignorance. Knowledge must marinate your worship so that it becomes richer. Worship is God's dwelling place, and when we live by it, we will remain God's dwelling place.
God initiates worship by revealing who He is. Man, in response, will start to worship. Worship is when all that a man is responds to all that God is. Worship is not God responding to us — it is our response towards our God. When you saw the hand of God in your life, how did you respond? Worship will remain even if God does not respond to us. He will remain even if we are not healed or receive our long awaited answers.
To understand this dynamic, consider a simple but profound illustration from nature. Rain does not just come down from nowhere. It all starts when the Sun heats the earth and all the water bodies. In response, water evaporates from rivers, lakes, and oceans, while trees and plants release moisture through transpiration . All of this, when combined, rises, condenses, forms clouds, and eventually falls as rain.
In the same way, God reveals His greatness to us, He proves His love, He demonstrates His power, He manifests His nature to us. Every revelation of who He is calls forth a response from deep within us. That response is worship — bowing down, praying, singing, performing acts of service, devoting your life to God, and living each day in conscious awareness of His presence.
May the Lord help us to always respond to God's display of His person. We must never be so blind as to ignore the manifestations of God. Every manifestation of His character is a clear clarion call to worship Him — and as we respond, our lives become like rain, a source of life and renewal to everyone around us.
